Central American Limited Edition

The Centroamericano variety is a hybrid resulting from the crossbreeding of Sarchimor T5296 and Ethiope Rume Sudan. Its selection was carried out by CIRAD-CATIE-PROMECAFE. This variety can be reproduced exclusively through the process of micropropagation.
It is also resistant to coffee leaf rust and has an extremely high yield. This variety has also been shown to have exceptional cup quality potential when managed well at high altitudes.
F1 hybrid varieties are still relatively new in coffee farming; only a few have been commercially available to farmers in the last 15 years, and then only in selected countries.
